SMASH EVENT. (FINALLY!~)
So I went SMASH yesterday.
It was a real pain in the morning since i was half-dead. It also didn't help when ONE cousin who promised to go with me ditched at last minute, so his brother, O (not bothered listing his name) volunteered instead.
I was dressed up as gothic lolita with this huge black coat (forced to wear as mom kept complaining that it's cold. My thigh-high socks kept slipping down to my knees since I didn't replace the elastic (too lazy to, anyway) so my socks looked droopy?

I have to complain about one thing while I was there, some prices are ridiculous.... especially some of the figures. Just go China, they sell for 80 yen which rounds up to around 13 dollars. The MADMAN vendor was reasonable, $10 for each manga, regardless of name.
So my mother drove us to Central and we walked all the way to the Sydney Convention Centre. We saw some cosplayers along the way. Predator from 'Aliens vs. Predators' was the first. <3
O was hungry and didn't eat breakfast so we stopped at Maccas for a meal. When he finished, went in to purchase tickets for $30 for adults. Entry for those that are 7 and under is free. Sooo unfair.
Continuing... We wandered around the vendors... Gasped at some prices and brought some stuff. I only brought two manga books, Onepiece volumes 46 and 53 since I save around $1.?? even if I use the Kinokuniya card. There were also many consoles where you find many people competing with each other.
We then went upstairs and found the maid cafe. Did I mention I couldn't figure out if one of the butlers were male or female, his or her name was Sho.... There was one that looked so Visual Kei <3....

I ordered a rainbow cupcake, which I thought was going to have a blast of colours but it ended up being like any ordinary cupcake and an orange juice. O ordered cappuccino and the bill added up to $26... you wonder why? it's for the butler/maid service. A maid told us to come back around 4-5pm so we then went to the Auditorium where they had some gigs. Cough... then checked the Art room where they teach you how to draw?
So we went back down to wander some more. Then out to the closet shopping centre to find an ATM so O can buy his fake gun from that gun vendor. There was a girl who dressed up as gory lolita and it looked very nice... I should dress like that next year.
We, not wanting to get out of the 4pm scheme, went to the Auditorium to see the cosplay contest. There was this funny MC who dressed us as Jessica Alba, in a bikini and scuba suit from a certain movie. Then came along a guy who had this glowing necklace, it was amusing when he threatened to bash MC Scott up, the poor guy. There were also auditions on CDs and etc. Some cosplayers looked really good and there was a girl who caught stage fright and ran off the stage. She then reappeared again. Bravo!
When 4pm came we left to go to Maid Cafe. There were people lining up and some complaining about when were they going to be seated. I love how the maids/butlers went looking for their cilents and how butlers would have one arm angled at the back and one at the front.
Rain was our butler and he was really polite, well he is a butler... We got seats outside and it was awesome. The view was great and you could totally see what things were happening at the entrance. we got to stay for one hour where O and I just talked and yapped and so forth. It seems like we had telepathy with our butler because we rang the bell to ask for another refill of water and his answer was 'Oh, I was about to ask you that." Weird. He then asked if we wanted to play cards but we declined since we both didn't know to. There was a very cute moment where you see a butler ringing a bell and maids following him, they were giggling and running around. We then posed for a picture. Rain led us to door.
O wanted to buy more manga, went to MADMAN vendor again. Then to 'Pancakes on Rocks' to eat dinner. O paid the bill. Went to EB Games where O tries to persuade me to buy a game. Pestered him with many questions and after a deep thought, he put it back down. There goes our long walk to station where I looked wierd since i was dressed up. There was trackworks and we ended up catching train to Sydneham then have to travel back home by bus. Very long and tiring, I must say.
That day, I was amused by someone dressed as Pedobear. Had taken a photo with someone who asked me to. Get ignored by a cosplayer when asking what manga they were from. Got sore feet. Had fun but pricey fun.

Dry Lips.
So, my package had came yesterday, can't be bothered to take pictures of it. I am happy with the umbrella, it has a hard frame and from the label is also UV resistant and waterproof. I didn't know there would be many eyelashes but I'm happy with the amount. I like the petticoat and the drawers and would definitely order from them again. The hat got kinda squashed and the wig was packed nicely. I had thought the umbrella would be small when I first saw the package but it expands a bit when I opened it.
Today, I went to
Metro Centre in Marrickville and it was a long time since I went there again. It was really embarassing when I was in K-Mart. I was in the cosmetics section and my mother going through the women's clothing section. She didn't realize where I was and ended up at the reception desk. As I was deciding to buy either the Outlast Lipcolour or the Outlast Lipstain (both from
Covergirl), I heard my name through the speakers, "Angela Mo, please proceed to the service desk. Your mother is looking for you." I was really embarrassed, I mean who wouldn't be, only little children should be called for when they were lost and I wasn't one.
I ended up buying the Lipstain because it was easier to apply as it came in a marker form and it wasn't shiny like the Lipcolour one. Plus the Lipstain was cheaper, it being $17.85 whereas the Lipcolour was $20 and something cents. What I found weird was that the topcoat itself costed about $19 without the colour stick when I saw it in a seperate package. I got the lipstain in 400,
Everlasting Bloom? as it was a pretty pink colour and because the other colours were ugh, especially nude. I thought nude would be more light than dark brown.
After that, I went to a Korean restaurant in Belmore to eat with my mother, her friend and her daughter. I had the spicy tofu soup which included rice, my mother had the one where there was a egg yolk in the middle with many vegetables surrounding it (
Bi-Bam-Bap, something like that), my mother's friend had marinated beef on a cooktop with rice and her daughter had cold noodles with spicy paste. It was delicious and came with about 6 sidedishes including Kimchi. My favourite was a potato made one which was very creamy and a bit sweet. The kimchi here tastes better than the one I had at Mi-Jak, a restaurant in Stratfield which had sour Kimchi. My mother's friend recommended a restaurant at Darling Harbour, '
Pancakes at Rocks'. My friend had also recommend me than place because she had been there. I have to eat there one day.
When we finished eating, we bid my mother's friend and her daughter goodbye. We retrieved our car from the parking lot and went straight back home. I then tried on the lipstain. After 20 minutes without moisturing my lips first, they felt really dry and I went to get some lip balm. The lip balm helped for some time and then my lips felt dry again. However the colour was long lasting and I liked it ~ I later removed it using a make up remover. I was afraid it wouldn't come off because I read some reviews and some people complaining that sometimes it would take the top skin of your lip to just remove the product. I was relieved when I remembered what I applied was a lipstain, not the
L'Oreal Infallible or the
Covergirl LipColour.

DollyWink and Diamond Lashes are still far away... T.T
My package is coming tomorrow I think. Knowing this makes me very happy because the SMASH event is happening in ..5 days. Yay~ :D
Today, I am a little depressed. I want DollyWink and Diamond Lashes for so long. They have this adorable look;
Top Lashes;
Bottom Lashes;
Sadly, my mother doesn't even let me buy any... I really want No.1,6 & 8.
even the diamond lashes.... they were more worth the value, as they come in a packet of 5 pairs while DollyWink has only 2 pairs.
In AKA (A Japanese Cosmetic Store), DollyWink would cost about $36, and I don't know about Diamond Lashes. I know that the two brands can be found cheaper for prices of $29 and $24 at many other cosmetic stores located in many areas of Central and Townhall.

Ready for Smash!~
I'm all set for Smash 2011. I'm very excited and hope I can make friends with people who have the same interests as me. There was a very depressing moment when I realized I couldn't save $5 by purchasing online, I guess I would have to line up that day. I ordered my umbrella, bloomers, pannier, wig, bag and some accessories from BodyLine using my father's credit card. Took like four hours resolving around a pannier that would suit my outfit, comparing length and the design on the lace. Went on a rampage when a certain pair of eyelashes were sold out. They were unique as it was black with little feathers coming out of the end.
Yesterday I went to DFO (Direct Factory Outlet) and man was Oroton crowded. there was a 70% discount on everything in store and they even needed a security guard. Didn't buy anything there as nothing was my style. Peter Alexander, the sleepwear store for women had some cute babydolls but last year was much prettier.
I then went onto Angelic Pretty's Japanese online site and found a dress from the Dream Sky series that I liked; the one that the model is wearing. They even have socks to go with it.....

I had to go to rivers as they had the $22 shoe special on women's footwear. As soon as I saw that advertisement on television, I asked my mom if we could go to DFO since there was a river's store there. My mother fell in love with a jacket there and I fell head over heels with a pair of mini-heels that suited my lolita outfit. They look like if they were made from preleather but i don't give. I had wanted to purchase another pair called 'Japan' from the Sander's store but they were around $70. Too pricey. When i went to pay, my mother said she had to go to the bathroom so she gave me my father's debit card to pay. It was my first time using a card so when I pushed in the digits and it processed, there was a very very satisfying feeling. I bet many people have had this when they first used any type of card to pay.
